Karagöz Museum
In 14 June 1997, Bursa gets a new cultural center. The old transformer building, which is located on Çekirge Street and has been idle for years, is being restructured by Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and Bursa Culture, Art and Tourism Foundation and put into service as an Art House.
The mission of the building is determined immediately due to its location, because the Karagöz monument, the cultural symbol of Bursa, is right across it. Therefore, its name is Karagöz House. The Turkish shadow play, which has been ignored for years, is now getting a house named after its hero, and a new place for us in Bursa. In the building, there is a show hall where Karagöz shows will be held, Karagöz – Hacivat gallery, puppet gallery, specialized library and Depiction making workshop.
