Karapinar Desert
Wind erosion, which brought the relocation of Karapınar district to the agenda about 70 years ago, affected 103 thousand hectares of land. Karapınar, which is the driest area of the Konya Closed Basin and the region with the least rainfall in Turkey, became a constantly developing desert in the 1950s due to dune movements.
