Keçi Bastion

Goat Bastion is a bastion located within the walls of Diyarbakir. It is the largest and oldest bastion on the walls.

It was built on the hewn rock mass east of the Mardin Gate. Although the date of construction is unknown, it was repaired by the Marwanids in 1223. It is known that the bastion was used with a different function (as the Şemsi Temple) in the Byzantine period.
