Keci Castle
It is 20 km from the city center of Gumushane. It is not known when and by whom this castle was built, located to the east of the Gümüşhane-Bayburt main road. It is thought that the castle is probably an important military base in the region and provides road safety in Gümüşhane, Bayburt and Kelkit.
Located on a smooth rock mass at an altitude of 800 meters, the castle was built on a large rock block with a height of 1,560 meters above sea level. The castle has two separate entrances. One of them is from the west and the other is from the east. Next to the western entrance, which is thought to be the main entrance, there is a 15-meter-long natural rock shelter.
There are water cisterns and some places thought to be warehouses in the northern and southern parts of the castle. The bastion on the west of the castle has two floors and there is a window opening to the east on the upper floor. According to some, these places were built as prisons. There are also some roads that go down from the castle to the valley and are hidden inside the rocks.
