Kemerdere Cove Pond and Bridge

This historical texture, which is an aqueduct, is located in Kemer, that is, within the boundaries of Kemerdere Village. Its history goes back to the Early Roman period, that is, to the Ancient Roman period. The aqueduct, which was built during the Early Roman period covering the years 753 BC to 476 BC, was built to bring water to the region where the destroyed ancient city of Troy is located.

Those who go to see this historical monument of thousands of years may be impressed by its magnificence at first glance and think that this is a bridge; however, this is an arch through which water is carried. Even though its ruins have remained since then, it continues to witness history as the most intact and visible aqueduct of the Troas region, which covers Çanakkale and all its districts.
