Kendirli Gazi Cultural Center (Saint Francis Church)

The church, which was started to be built in 860, was built by the King of France III. It was completed with the financial support of Napoleon, French missionaries and the Catholic community. A wide-ranging aid campaign was organized for the rebuilding of the church, which later became unusable. The old church was demolished and the construction of the current church began in 1898, took two years to build and was opened in 1900 with a grand ceremony. Rome. The church plan was sent from the Vatican by the Papal authority. Today, it will serve as the Anatolian-Turkish Archeology Institute.
