Khikhani Fortress
The Khikhani Fortress (Tamar Fortress) at an altitude of 2635 meters, strategically located on top of a steep cliff in the Khikhadziri Village of Adjara Region and dates back to the 12th and 13th centuries; It was used as a hiding place by Georgian kings.
In this medieval castle, which played an important role in the Ottoman Period, there is a church, a bakery and a wine cellar that can still stand today. It is very close to the Turkish border.
