Kibyra Ancient City

Kibyra Ancient City is located on three dominant hills separated from each other by deep cliffs in Horzum district of Burdur Gölhisar district.

The settlement area of the city is quite large. As you enter the city, there is a magnificent monumental gate on the left and the most magnificent stadium of Ancient Anatolia with a capacity of 12-13 thousand people.

As you progress, you can see the basilica, the upper and lower agora, the bath, the gymnasium, the theater and the parliament building, and the planned mausoleum, the bath, the arch with round towers and the waterways. The parliament building/music house is one of the most magnificent works of Ancient Anatolia with a capacity of 3 thousand 600 people. The Medusa Mosaic, made of red, green and white marble, located in the very center of the parliament building/orchestra, with its hair consisting of snakes and eyes that turn people into stone, is unique in Anatolia.
