Kırklareli Karakaş Bey Mosque
Located in the Karakaş Neighborhood in the center of Kırklareli, the mosque was built in 1628 by Karakaş Hacı Mehmet Bey. The mosque, which is still open for worship, has a square plan, rubble stone and wooden roof. The minaret of the old mosque has a neat cut meatball, a single balcony and a leaded cone. The new building is made of reinforced concrete, its minaret was demolished to the log and rebuilt. An additional narthex was added later. Its roof is covered with Marseille tiles.
