Kırkpınar Private Square
Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling, a traditional Turkish oil wrestling tournament, is held in Edirne every year at the end of June or the beginning of July. In Kırkpınar Oil Wrestling, which is one of the oldest traditional sports in the world, wrestlers fight in the private square for three days. Kırkpınar Festival is also held during the wrestling. In the Kırkpınar Festival held in Edirne Sarayiçi every year at the end of June and the beginning of July, wrestlers fight in the private square. On the last day of the event, first, second and third places are determined in each category. The most important of the determined categories is the chief wrestler. After the wrestling, Kırkpınar Festival is organized.
