Kıyıköy Aya Nikola Monastery
Ayanikola Monastery, another Byzantine monument in Vize, was built in the 6th century. Located 700 meters from the town of Kiyikoy, the monastery is one of the best examples of places of worship built by carving the rocks. The road to the monastery has recently been organized jointly by the Turkish and Bulgarian Ministries of Culture. In the basement, there is the holy spring, which is considered holy by Christians, a church on the ground floor and an area where monks spend time on the upper floor. The additions made by the Greeks in the 19th century have not survived. It is stated that many valuable works in the monastery were destroyed during the Russian occupation.
