Kızılin Bridge
The Kızılin Bridge, built in the second century, is located between Ağcin village of Adıyaman center and Kızılin village of Besni district. It is among the information circulating among the people that the bridge connecting the two sides of the Göksu Stream was blown up from the middle arch due to the hostility between the two villages in the 19th century.
Built by the Commagene Civilization, which ruled in the Roman period, in the second century BC, the bridge is 155 meters long and 8 meters wide. The height of the round middle arch with the keystone is 31 meters from the ground. One stone of the structure, which was built with smooth cut stones, weighs between one and a half and 2 tons. The other arched chambers, located on both sides of the middle chamber, which forms the main arch of the bridge, which has a three-eyed arch, were used as discharge chambers during the periods when the flow of the stream was high.
