Kral Kızı Basilica
It is located in the place known as the King's Daughter, on the western slope of today's Taşaltı Lake, one of the two harbors of Ainos, southeast of Enez. The Basilica, 30 m long, has three naves and there is a pastophorion between the naves. Excavations and researches carried out in recent years have shown that the basilica has gone through seven building phases so far, and the oldest building level goes back to the Roman period. A fountain formed from three niches carved into the rock emerged below the floor level in the middle nave. It is understood that the last phase of the basilica belongs to the 12th century, due to the 10 gold coins recovered from its foundations. The marble blocks used in the construction of the basilica were brought from Marmara Island and Samothrace.
