Kurul Castle
13 km far from the center of our city. It is a first degree archaeological and natural site built on a sharp rock, located within the borders of Bayadý village, at a distance of 5 km, and is an ancient settlement. 250 - 300 stairs were unearthed. Terracotta roof tiles and ceramic pieces of masonry found during the excavation were examined and dated to BC. II. and it was determined the that settlement was made in the 1st century. T.R. Archaeological excavations were carried out in 2010 and 2011 by the Ordu Governor's Office and the Museum Directorate. This area is the first archaeological excavation site in the Black Sea Region. As a result of the excavations, temple and castle walls dating back 3000 years were found. Excavations continued in 2012 as well.
