Kuşdoğan Mosque

It is located in Karanfiloğlu Neighborhood. Although the building does not have a construction inscription, it is stated in various sources that provide information about the building that the person who built the building was a person named "Doğan". It is stated that this person is referred to by different names such as “Kurt Doğan”, “Kuş Doğan”, “Kurtçu or Ranger Doğan Bey” and “Doğan Ağa” in various sources. The construction date of the mosque coincides with the years H.866/M.1461-1462. It is mentioned in the sources that Doğan Bey was a Janissary agha. Kurtçu Doğan was the janissary agha in the 1444 War of Varna and maintained this position for 7 years. After Fatih Sultan Mehmed came to the throne, he went on the Karaman campaign. Seeing the Ottoman army in front of him, Karamanoğlu begged for mercy, and Fatih returned to the Ottoman lands. While the young sultan was in Bursa, the janissaries raised a cauldron in case we wanted an expedition tip. The Janissaries, who were on both sides of the road, said to Fatih, "This is the first expedition of our Sultan, the servants need bestowal". Conqueror, who was very disturbed by this behavior of the soldier and was hurt, distributed 10 bags of coins to the soldier and calmed the situation. Then, he had the Janissary Chief Kurtçu Doğan hospitalized in disaster, dismissed him from his post and exiled to Amasya.
