Historical / İkizce, Turkiye, Black Sea, Ordu

Laleli Mosque

It is in Düzpelit neightborhood, İkizce District, Ordu Province.

According to written sources, it has been determined that the wood used in the examinations on wood is 400-450 years old. Another striking feature of the mosque is that it was built without nails. The building has risen on stones that form a height of about 40-50 cm from the ground and are placed on top of each other at regular intervals. It is thought that it is aimed to protect the structure, which has been cut off from the ground, from moisture coming from the ground.

Wooden material was used throughout the building, which was built with the masonry construction system. The wood used in the construction of the mosque was obtained from pelit wood, which is resistant to the climate of the region. The hipped roof is covered with Turkish style tiles.

The eaves cover is kept quite wide. Wolf throat technique was used in the construction of the mosque.
