Mahperi Hatun Caravanserai
Mahperi Hatun Caravanserai was built on the 29th kilometer of the Tokat-Sunday road, approximately 1 kilometer from the Pazar District, on a land inclined to the northwest on the southeast of the road. It was built by Mahperi Hatun, the wife of Alaeddin Keykubad and the mother of Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev II, in 1238, according to the four-line thuluth calligraphy inscriptions on the courtyard and closed part portals. Although both inscriptions differ little in their texts, they record the same creator and year of construction. The partially devastated work has survived to the present day without some covering and structural elements of the load-bearing system, despite preserving its original character to a large extent in terms of its plan, and was restored with the restoration work carried out in 1999.
