Mamahatun Tomb

Another important structure built in the name of Mama Hatun, the daughter of Saltuk ruler Izzeddin Saltuk II, is the Mama Hatun Tomb, which draws attention with its unique architecture, right next to the Mama Hatun Complex. The tomb, which was built together with the kulliye between 1192 and 1202, was designed in a round shape, unlike the rectangular and square planned tombs in Anatolia. The Mama Hatun Tomb, which has survived for hundreds of years with its fascinating stone workmanship and is surrounded by huge cut stone walls with a thickness of 2.5 meters and a diameter of 13 meters, is one of the must-sees of history and architecture buffs in Erzincan. You can see the tomb, where you can examine the geometric motifs and religious symbols in its interior, with guided faith tours organized throughout the year, and you can get information about interesting architecture.
