Manisa Museum

The city of Manisa, which was established and developed on the northern skirts of the mountain known as Sypylos since ancient times, is one of the settlements that has survived uninterruptedly until today.

The Muradiye Madrasa, which was built by Sultan Murat III in 1585 and is the only work of Mimar Sinan in the Aegean, has been open to visitors since 1937 as the Manisa Museum. The Archeology Department of the museum, which serves in the Imarethane section of the Muradiye Complex, was closed to visitors in 2002 for repairs. In the Madrasa section of the complex, the Ethnography Department was opened with its new arrangement in 2011.
