Marktplatz

The market square is a central square in Düsseldorf's old town, created in the 14th century as part of the first city expansion and first mentioned in a document in 1392. Today it is mainly used for representative and public purposes and is only occasionally used as a marketplace. The town hall and the Jan Wellem equestrian monument dominate.
