Metris Tepe Victory Memorial
Metristepe, which was built in Bozüyük Metristepe, which has a very important place in our recent history and is the place where the most difficult struggles of our Turkish War of Independence took place, the Battle of İnönü, one of the turning points, was won and, in the words of Great Leader Atatürk, "the bad luck of the nation was defeated". The monument, with its magnificent appearance, symbolizes the invincibility of the Turk. There are reliefs, information about the troops participating in the war and their commanders on the monument, which was made of reinforced concrete with a height of 24 meters. Considering the historical importance of Metristepe, the Governor's Office carried out restoration works on the monument and its surroundings in 2001. Sculptures were made on two separate pedestals in front of the monument and trenches were dug around it, with four reliefs containing the İnönü Wars and historical telegrams on all four sides of the monument and separate from the monument. İnönü Martyrdom:Martyrdom; It is located on a slope, approximately 6 km from the town, ahead of the Bozüyük-Eskişehir-Kütahya road junction. The cemetery, where there are many martyrs' graves, is surrounded by pine and fir trees, and there is also a martyr's insignia made of marble. Commemoration Ceremonies of İnönü Martyrs are held here; state officials, a large number of spectators from the province and surrounding provinces, and veterans attend the ceremonies. By commemorating the martyrs; The feelings of İnönü Victories are kept alive. İntikamtepe Martyrdom: The cemetery, where the graves of many of our brave soldiers who were martyred in the War of Independence, are located on the Bozüyük-Dodurga road; Inscription on one of the graves; “126. Heroes of the Regiment, 3rd Battalion, 9th Division were martyred here. 30-31 March 1921. Their Graves Became the Cradle of Victories.” phrase is included.
