Meydan Bath

Located in the city center of Sivas, opposite the Meydan Mosque, this bath was built in 1564. It is a good example of classical Ottoman hammam architecture and consists of coldness and warmth. The bath, which is made of cut stone, is in a rectangular shape and is covered with a dome. The hot room has four iwans, basins are placed inside the iwans and an octagonal navel stone is placed in the middle. The bath, which was in a dilapidated condition in the 1980s, was later repaired. During this repair, resting and reading rooms were added to the bath. The hammam was declared among the top 10 hammams in Turkey by the Hürriyet Newspaper at the beginning of 2003 and is still in service.
