Mihran Hanım Mansion Boutique Hotel
The tourism activity observed in Edirne in recent years has made the historical and cultural texture of the city much more important. Kaleiçi, the ancient district of Edirne, whose history dates back to the Middle Ages, is at the forefront of the places where efforts are concentrated to save this texture and bring it into the city's memory functionally. Kaleiçi, the place that has sealed the time of the culture of living together, is home to many outstanding examples of civil architecture belonging to the Ottoman and Greek, Armenian and Jewish minorities who lived in Edirne. While projects are being produced one after another for many historical houses waiting to be saved in Edirne Kaleiçi, Mihran Hanım Mansion, one of the first examples of these works, continues to be an inspiration for institutions, organizations and private entrepreneurs who want to take responsibility. Mihran Hanım Mansion is one of the mansions rising in . As an outstanding example of multicultural Ottoman architecture, the mansion was built by Armenian masters, and it includes elaborate and rich ornamental elements such as Edirnekari, which can be seen as a reflection of multiculturalism. Mihran Hanım Mansion is a three-storey building, where wooden materials are dominant, with a garden and a cihannüma. The rooms open to the sofa behind the double-winged high door that provides the entrance to the building with a few rows of stairs from the street. Across the main entrance, two rows of stairs behind the hall meet in the middle and reach the upper floor in a single row. The rooms on this floor are arranged in a way that opens to the middle sofa. At the top, there is a floor with a cihannuma that allows to watch the entire Edirne panorama. Behind the mansion, there is a garden surrounded by high walls, which can be considered as a general feature of Kaleiçi houses.
