Miralay Şerif Bey Mansion

Miralay Şerif Bey Mansion (Sakarya Primary School) was declared as a cultural property to be protected in 1979 by the Presidency of the High Council of Real Estate Antiquities, due to its being one of the works of the Late Ottoman Period, its antiquity, architectural structure and being adorned with Atatürk's memories. It was built by Miralay Şerif Bey, who served as the Regiment Commander in Yozgat in the 1890s. Sakarya Primary School is located in the city center behind the Government Office and was built as three floors. Cut stone was used in the corners and rubble stone was used in the walls. Floor heights are determined by stone moldings. The entrance is from the south and the door wings are wooden. There is an overhang in the middle of the entrance façade. There are eight windows on the first floor front facade. There are nine windows with round arches on the entrance facade of the second floor. There are nine arched windows on the upper floor and the window frames are stone molded and iron mesh.

On the west façade, there are two wooden doors on the first floor, two large windows on the second floor, one small window in the middle, two large windows on the sides on the third floor, two small windows in the middle, one large window in the middle of the second and third floors. There are nine windows, five on the second floor and four on the bay window. There is a window. The third floor is parallel to the second floor. The windows are round arched stone framed. Roof sheds are available on overhangs. The roof is covered with Marseille type tiles. There is a large stone carving mounted on the wall of the third floor. There are leaf and flower motifs on the edge and top of this carving. It is a mansion where Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK resided during his visit to Yozgat.
