Mokisos / Nora Ancient City
Ancient Nora City is within the boundaries of Helvadere Town in the central district. At the foot of Hasandağı and on the royal road, there are ancient city ruins from the Roman and Byzantine Periods. During the period, a thousand civil houses were built. Therefore, one of the most densely populated cities of the fifth and sixth centuries was the Ancient City of Nora. This city is one of the largest and best preserved ruins of the Cappadocia region. In the ancient city, which was established on an area of 200 hectares, 32 church structures and 20 cisterns were identified, together with the ruins, apart from the residences.
