Moloz (Trabzon)

Moloz is a historic and central area located in the Ortahisar district of Trabzon Province, in the Black Sea Region of Turkey. Situated along the coastal zone of Trabzon’s city center, Moloz has historically held an important position in terms of port activities, trade, and transportation.

History

The Moloz area is among the settlement zones that have shaped Trabzon since ancient times. Due to its proximity to the Port of Trabzon, the area was used as a commercial and strategic location during the Byzantine and Ottoman periods. Geographical Location

Moloz is located in the city center of Trabzon, running parallel to the Black Sea coastline. It borders the Meydan area to the east and the Beşirli and Faroz neighborhoods to the west. The area is easily accessible via the coastal road and the city’s public transportation network.
