Mor Petrus and Mor Pavlus Church - Syriac Ancient Metropolitan

Mor Petrus and Mor Paulus Church is in Adiyaman Central Mara District. The church, which is estimated to have been built in the 4th or 5th century, was repaired in 1888 and 1905 according to the Syriac inscriptions on the entrance door and inside.

The church, which extends in the east-west direction, has a three-aisled basilica plan. The wooden altar in the apse was built in 1890 by Assyrian masters from Urfa and was recently repaired. The upper floor of the narthex in the west opens to the interior. st. Also known as Paul's Church, the church is used by the Syriac Community today.
