Muallim Mustafa Sırrı Özkan Cultural House

Muallim Mustafa Sırrı Özkan Culture House was built by Muallim Mustafa Sırrı Özkan in 1928 as one of the exemplary houses reflecting the traditional architecture of Gölhisar. The two-storey building is a typical example of civil architecture with its “living, guests, bedrooms, hearth that functions as a kitchen, tereks for arranging dishes and sherbet, cupboards, ghuslhanes”. Between the windows of the 2nd floor, there is a bay window with hipped roof in the middle. From the living room, there is a 20-step wooden staircase leading up to the house. This mansion, which was built in the first years of the Republic period, also served as the village guesthouse where the state elders of the period were hosted.
