Muradiye Mosque
Muradiye Mosque is an Ottoman mosque built in the 15th century in Edirne. The building attracts attention with its tiles adorning the mihrab and the walls of the sanctuary. It was built by Murad and completed in 1435-6. It was originally part of a Mevlevi complex, but was later converted into a mosque. There was also an soup kitchen and a school in the complex, but these buildings have not survived. The mosque has a T-shaped plan with a five-section portico and an entrance hall with domed rooms on both sides. The solitary minaret has been rebuilt several times and the current minaret dates from 1957.
