Muratlı Historical Wooden Mosque

It is located in Muratlı Village of Borçka. According to the inscription on the door providing entrance to the mahfile, the building was built by Ahmet Usta (Aslan son) in Hijri 1262 Miladi 1846. Again, according to the inscriptions on it, the pulpit was built by Uzunhasan Zade Hüseyin Alemdar in Hijri 1263 Gregorian 1847 and the mahfil floor was built by Sağroğlu Hüseyin Ağa. Due to the destruction of the interior during the Russian occupation in the region, the original wooden minaret of the mosque, which was repaired, was rebuilt in 1979. Apart from these, the mosque, which has undergone partial repairs with the contributions of the people, is open for worship.
