Nevşehir Castle

The castle, which was built during the Seljuk period, is frequently visited among historical places in Nevşehir. In the past, Baghdad aimed to protect the caravan route. The castle, which is made of cut stone and rubble stone, has two entrance gates. Although it has an inscription, it has not survived to the present day and therefore its date is not known exactly. But it was repaired between 1966-1979. It is rumored that there was a water tunnel under the castle, which has 42 battlements, to meet the needs during the war. An underground city was also unearthed during an excavation covering 11 neighborhoods. A church is reached from this road and Hz. There are frescoes representing the ascension of Jesus to heaven.
