Old Ömeriye Mosque

The mosque is in the Tobacco Market. The building has four inscriptions. According to the inscription on the outer door, the Caliph Hz. It is stated that it was built during the caliphate of Umar (r.a) (634–644). According to the repair inscription in the last congregation place; The building was repaired in 1301 (701 Hijri) by Ustad Muhammed Agha, son of Ahmed Haci Durmus Siraceddin. In the inscription on a stone found on the ground in the garden of the mosque, it is stated that the mosque was repaired by Ali Begin's son, Hacı Firuz Beğ, in 1772 (Hijri 1186). According to the inscription on the right window of the last congregation place in the courtyard of Ömeriye Mosque; It was repaired in 1911 (1330 Hijri) during the reign of Sultan Reşad (1909-1918), one of the Ottoman sultans. On the inscription on the east side of the inner door of Ömeriye Mosque, the date of 1330 is read again. The inscription was written by Urfa calligrapher Behçet Arabi.
