Old Teacher’s House

The 3-storey building, which was built during the Russian occupation of Kars in the 19th century, is considered one of the most beautiful examples of Baltic architecture in the city. Like other works of Baltic architecture, smooth cut basalt stones were used in this building.

The building, which was transferred to the treasury with the proclamation of the Republic, was used by Ziraat Bank for a while and started to operate as a teacher's house in 1984. The building, which was evacuated in 2003 and allocated to Kafkas University, was registered and taken under protection.
