Ottoman House
The building in Dede District is a typical example of wooden civil architecture of the 19th century. The house, which belongs to Halil İbrahim Efendi (Sipahioğlu), one of the first-term deputies, and known as the "Yeşil Efendi House", has a special importance because Atatürk was hosted here. The Selamlık section of the house was opened to visitors in 1984 after the restoration and arrangements. Built in Baghdadi style, the house consists of a basement and an upper floor rising above the ground. The woodwork on the ceiling, doors and walls is worth seeing. The decorations of the head room, which has a bay window and a hearth, are richer than the other spaces. Many ethnographic products can be seen in the Ottoman House, which was restored by the Odunpazarı Municipality in 2006 and arranged to reflect the 19th century life. The garden of the Ottoman House, which also has a restaurant, is a good address for a meal or a coffee.
