Palu Grand Mosque and Fountain

Grand Mosque, located in Çarşıbaşı District of Old Palu, is understood from its inscription to have been built in 1274 Hijri. According to the legend; It is also known as the 'Kırklar Mosque' among the people. It was built by the foreman of the master who built the Small Mosque. Ulu Mosque has a rectangular plan and its upper part is without a dome and is in the form of a flat roof. The roof of the mosque has completely collapsed. There are two entrances, one from the West and the South. Its minaret has a square plan and arches provide the transition to the round body. The upper part of the honor has been demolished. The main entrance is in the west and the second entrance is in the south. Black and white cut stone was used in the round arch structure. The building was built with rubble stone. There is a fountain in the courtyard at the western entrance.
