Pervane Madrasa
The madrasa is located opposite the northern entrance of the Alaaddin Mosque courtyard. It was built in 1262 by the Seljuk Vizier Muinüddin Süleyman Pervane to commemorate the second capture of the city. The north-south oriented building has a rectangular plan. It is a good example of the madrasah type with two iwans and an open courtyard. Its entrance is in the form of an ornate monumental gate made entirely of marble. There is a room on each side of the entrance iwan. There is an octagonal fountain in the middle of the courtyard. On the east and west facades of the courtyard, there are arched porticos extending north-south and resting on three columns, behind the porticoes there are ten small rooms of five. Each cell has a hearth and a large window facing the street.
