Piri Mehmet Pasha Mosque
Piri Mehmet Pasha Mosque, or briefly Pir Pasha Mosque, is a mosque in Lefke, dating back to the end of the 7th century, to the Umayyads. Mehmet Bey, the grandson of Piri Mehmed Pasha, the first vizier of Suleiman the Magnificent, participated in the Ottoman conquest of the island of Cyprus in 1570-1571. During his visit to Lefke, Mehmet Bey renovated and built this dilapidated mosque, whose genealogy dates back to Abu Bakr, and named it after his grandfather.
