Pools Martyrdom and Memorial
When you go from the Martyr Corporal Monument towards the Martyrs' Monument, it is on the left side of the road between the road and the sea shore. The monument was built in 1961 by the Çanakkale Martyrs Aid Association. It was restored in 2013 by the Ministry of Forestry and Water Affairs. Before reaching the martyrdom and monument, there is the Halil Pasha Fountain on the right side of the road. On the marble inscriptions opposite the fountain, there are inscriptions written in Ottoman Turkish, belonging to the soldiers who went to the front. An example of the inscriptions: Adam cannot seek heaven with Firak-ı yar. What kind of mercy will the world be to me. Its meaning in today's Turkish: A person cannot settle in heaven with his separation tomorrow. The journey of death can be expressed in the form of what is possible for me, it will be hell for me. On the inscriptions on the monument, the names of our soldiers who were martyred in the Kerevizdere Region are mentioned.
