Sagalassos Ancient City
Sagalassos Ancient City is located in the region known as Pisidia in ancient times. Located next to a mountainous area, the first traces of settlement in the city date back to 12,000 years ago. Sagalassos Ancient City is extremely well preserved with its monumental structures where almost all of the original building stones can be found. On the other hand, the plan of the city is quite striking considering the terraced structure on which it was built, and a harmonious and impressive monumental center was created with this structure. In addition, with at least a thousand years of ceramic production, Sagalassos is recommended to the UNESCO World Heritage List as the longest ceramic production center in ancient times.
