Samandere Waterfall Natural Monument
Samandere Waterfall is located within the borders of Samandere village of Beyköy town, southeast of Düzce. It is 15 km from Beyköy town, 24 km from Düzce, 20 km from TEM Highway and 26 km from D-100 Highway. The area covered by the waterfall is 10 ha, and the streams in this area merge with Uğursuyu and reach Efteni Lake, and from here they merge with the Büyük Melen water and pour into the Black Sea within the borders of Akçakoca. The environment has interesting geological features such as waterfalls, cascades and witches' cauldrons, and rich and untouched vegetation with monumental trees in places. Samandere Waterfall is one of the first registered natural monuments of Turkey. The waterfall, which gave its name to the village where it is located, has been registered as a "Natural Monument" due to the features created by natural events. Along the 500 m stream, where Samandere Waterfall is located, monumental trees, three waterfalls and a deep section called the witch's cauldron are registered and very interesting.
