Şarkışla Castle

Sarkisla Castle is also known as "Ataturk Castle". It is a high hill in the middle of the district. There is no trace of the castle. It looks more like a mound than a castle. However, walls were built around it by the municipality. It is mentioned as "Şarkışla Center Mound" in scientific sources. However, this nomenclature is suitable to be confused with the mound in the Center Hüyük village, which is very close to the district, which is now extinct. This name is not used by the people of the district anyway and is referred to as "Castle". In the "Sivas Province Survey" of 1998, information about the destruction on this hill is given. Local singer "Ati" (Atila Ceritoğlu) from Şarkışla appeared on the stage in the facilities located in the castle and used as a musical entertainment venue especially in the evenings for many years and this place became identified with itself. However, today these facilities have been removed and the castle stands idle.
