Saruhan Culture and Congress Center

Sarıhan Caravanserai is within the borders of Nevşehir on the Aksaray-Kayseri route, which provides the east-west connection on the Silk Road. It is located in the Damsa valley, 5 km southeast of Avanos town and 6 km north of Ürgüp. II. Sarihan, which was built in 1249 during the reign of Izzeddin Keykavus (perhaps by him), covers an area of 2000 m².

Tuff stones, which are common in the Cappadocia region, were used as building material in Sarıhan. The inn, whose upper parts were destroyed in places, was restored in 1991 and brought back to its original state. The Anatolian Seljuk Sultans did not build an inn after Sarıhan, which is one of the last examples of sultanhans.
