Sebeterias Castle

Sebeterias Castle is a castle built by the Urartians in the Murat Valley of Bingöl. Urartian King Menuas had this castle built to protect the Bingöl plateaus. The castle has not managed to survive until today. Murat Stream, flowing right next to it, caused the erosion of a part of the castle.

A few remnants of the wall have survived and it was understood that the remains of the wall were built of rubble stones. There are picnic areas and trekking trails around where you can spend time. Access to the castle is provided by private vehicles.
