Şems-i Tabrizi Mosque and Tomb
The most important change in Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi's life begins with his encounter with Şems-i Tebrizi. Şems opened new horizons in Mevlana's life and became his companion in his journey to become a perfect folk lover.
Şems-i Tebrizi Tomb and Masjid, located in a large park in the east of Konya Alaeddin Hill, are adjacent to each other. The tomb is of the classical Seljuk cupola type. It is covered with a lead roof, which was covered later, and there is a large sarcophagus under the dome, where it is accepted that the body of Shams-i Tabrizi is located. The Tomb and Masjid of Şems-i Tebrizi, which has a very important place in the intellectual life of Mevlana, is one of the most visited places in Konya.
