Sigacik Bay
Sığacık is a neighborhood of the Seferihisar district of İzmir. Sığacık Castle, an Ottoman castle built in 1522, is located within the borders of the ancient city of Teos. Sığacık is less than 5 kilometers from the center of Seferihisar. It is located on a small peninsula facing north. The port is on the east side and the beaches are on the west side. Its population is 3320. Until 2009, Sığacık was a fishing village. However, after Seferihisar received the title of quiet city, Sığacık became famous as a quiet holiday resort. The tsunami that occurred after the Aegean Sea earthquake in October 2020 caused loss of life and property in the neighborhood.
