Silvan Atatürk House
It is located in the town centre, on the outside of the city walls, by the river. It belongs to Hatip Bey. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who was appointed to Silvan as the Corps Commander in 1916, resided in this mansion for 6 months. As long as Atatürk stayed here, he stopped the advance of the Russians to Diyarbakir and saved Bitlis and Muş from enemy occupation. For these achievements, he was awarded the "Golden Sword Concession Medal". The mansion, which Atatürk used as his headquarters, serves as a museum today.
