Silvan Castle

Silvan Castle is a castle whose construction date is unknown. However, it has a past as old as Diyarbakir Castle and as old as Diyarbakir. According to Evliya Çelebi, a Kurdish king named Handik was established by the order of the prophet Cercis. It is rumored that Silvan, which is considered an Assyrian city, was destroyed and rebuilt 7 times in history. Silvan is known as the city of saints. After the burial of 40 Christian martyrs brought from Iran by Mar Maruthas, the founder of the city in 400 AD, Silvan; It was called Martiropolis (city of martyrs).
