Sinop Sea Martyrs Memorial
Located on Okullar Caddesi in the center of Sinop and one of the impressive monuments that will immediately attract your attention while visiting the city, the Marine Martyrs Monument is a striking work built with cut stones on a rectangular plinth in 1933. You can commemorate our martyrs by visiting the Sinop Marine Martyrs' Monument, which was designed to commemorate the sailors who were martyred in the raid on Sinop by the Russian navy in 1853, the foundations of which were laid in 1857 by Chief Admiral Mehmet Ali Pasha and opened with a ceremony in 1933.
