Sivas Archaeological Museum

The building, which was built by Governor Ahmed Muammer Bey in 1914 as the School of Industry, was opened to visitors as Sivas Archeology Museum in 2009 by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The museum, which is the largest archeology museum in Central Anatolia, includes fossil remains of various mammals that lived in the region 9 million years ago, date back to the Chalcolithic Age (5500-3000 BC), the Old Bronze Age (3000-2000 BC) and the Hittites. Artifacts from the Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman periods are also exhibited.
