Soğanlıdere Martyrdom

A few hundred meters from the Soğanlıdere Air Cemetery, there is the Soğanlıdere Hospital Martyrdom, which was restored and opened in 2005. The monument is figurated in the form of a moon and a star. The triangular pyramid structure in the middle of the star represents the rise of our martyrs to Allah. In the area just below the monument, the real cemetery of doubt is surrounded. Our soldiers who were martyred while being treated in the hospitals established during the war lie here. 2nd, 7th in this region. Medical Squadrons of the 12th and 12th Divisions were in service. Due to the fact that the valley is closed to enemy attacks, it served as the most important logistics support center of the Seddülbahir front. In addition to the coastal embankment batteries prepared for 18 March, Soğanlıdere Valley also hosted four division hospitals and the Southern Group Command's food and warehouse warehouses. In this respect, Soğanlıdere has become one of the centers where Turkish soldiers are provided with food. Before reaching the Soğanlıdere Martyrdom, a ruined ruin appears on the right side of the road. This is Melek Hanım Infirmary. This position, which was the first infirmary of the Seddülbahir Front, was later transformed into a comprehensive Field Hospital. It was marked on the map no. 29 on the 1916 Şevki Pasha Map and was written in Ottoman Turkish. Likewise, it has the feature of being one of the places where our soldiers serving in the set batteries are treated.
